WHY OPENAI HAVING A DEV DAY NOW IS HUGE
OpenAI announced its first-ever Developers Day in San Francisco this week since the company opened in 2015. OpenAI expects hundreds of developers from around the world to join them in-person on November 6th to “preview new tools and exchange ideas”. In-person attendees will also be able to join breakout sessions led by members of OpenAI’s technical staff.”
Registration details for in-person and livestream attendance will be announced in the coming weeks, and OpenAI has launched a website where people can sign up for more information on the conference as it emerges. In a press statement, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said "We’re looking forward to showing our latest work to enable developers to build new things." Just not GPT-4.5 or 5 according to Sam Altman. Even with this said, we’d be surprised if there wasn’t some sort of big announcement. We have some ideas…
